TAURON Arena Krakow
KINGS OF LEON return to Poland. After three magnificent festival appearances, it’s time for their first headline show. They will perform at TAURON Arena Krakow on September 8th. Tickets: www.eventim.pl.
Royal Capital City of Krakow now becomes a prestigious club member of locations marking the concert route of the band. The joy of polish fans should get even bigger, once mentioned that Krakow show is only second announced date for Europe in 2016.
According to band members’ statement during last New Year’s Eve gig in their hometown Nashville, they are up to finish writing songs for their new record, which is supposed to be released by the end of this year. Hopefully we will hear some of the new songs live at their September show. See you in Krakow!
Comprised of three Followill brothers – Caleb (guitar), Nathan (drums), and Jared (bass), as well as first cousin Matthew Followill (guitar) – Kings of Leon formed in 2000. Their debut album Youth and Young Manhood was released in 2003 and became an immediate sensation in the UK and Ireland, where NME declared it “one of the best debut albums of the last 10 years”. The first 3 albums led to Kings of Leon headlining Glastonbury Festival in 2008, followed later that year by the release of Only By The Night, the record that catapulted the band into the mainstream in the U.S. The multi-platinum selling album topped the charts, selling more than 6.5 million copies worldwide, and earned Kings of Leon four Grammy Awards. The album’s success also led to the band gracing the covers of Spin and Rolling Stone, performances on Saturday Night Live, sold-out shows at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, and headlining slots at the World’s biggest Festivals including Coachella, Lollapalooza & Rock am Ring/Rock im Park twice, Roskilde and many more, but not to forget two epic shows at Poland’s Open’er Festival, which are amongst the band’s all-time favorite live experiences.
