We are a lost generation, but we have each other and our music. On June 16, 2026, we will be transported to the late 1990s and early 2000s - The Offspring, Papa Roach, The Rasmus, Hollywood Undead and Lagwagon will perform at Krakow's TAURON Arena.
The turn of the century was a time of chaos and, at the same time, an era of artistic flourishing of the underground, which took over the mainstream. Punk, rap, nu-metal, grunge, indie rock - it all dominated the airwaves of MTV and radio stations, spun in discmen, circulated in empetrees, pumped adrenaline into our veins on game soundtracks. It was our perfect soundtrack for trampling the millennium bug with a heavy boot. Lost Generation is a throwback to a time when music wasn't listened to, but lived, because it defined both individuals and an entire generation.
"Why Don't You Get A Job?" - asked The Offspring in one of their big hits. They did their job in an exemplary fashion: the titans of California punk helped strong rock music return to the top of the charts, on their own terms and in full swing. Because The Offspring are one of the sunniest, most exciting and thrilling bands spawned by the punk scene... or pop-punk. Or maybe skatepunk? Who cares about names there, when you have to sing the choruses at full throat....
Who among us has never hummed the line "Cut my life into pieces / This is my last resort" in his head? Papa Roach were some of the biggest and brightest shining stars of the first generation of nu-metal. Over time, many genre heroes have fallen or lost their way, and they are still here and haven't lost their form, as evidenced by their 2022 album "Ego Trip." You also know their numbers well from immortal games, such as "Blood Brothers" from "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2."
Any European with access to a radio has heard "In the Shadows," The Rasmus' biggest hit, a million times. It's a great number, as is most of their repertoire. It's infectiously upbeat alternative rock, when it needs to be sweet, when it can - heavy enough to give them a warm welcome to the Lost Generation.
From rap they take directness and street energy, while in rock they are primarily interested in uncompromising energy. Hollywood Undead are the youngest band in the lineup of the up-and-coming Lost Generation, but undoubtedly an exceptionally successful one. They made noise at the end of the first decade of the 21st century, combining a flamboyant image and a lack of brakes in lyrics or songs. Now, a dozen years after their greatest successes, they are still stars and have many arguments in their favor.
Our deepest apologies, do you have your skateboards, boombox and cassettes of the best skatepunk classics with you? For the last point, we hope you haven't forgotten Lagwagon. They have always been fun and emotional at the same time. On the one hand, they offered very sunny pop-punk tunes, and on the other, they allowed themselves a lot of empathy and melancholy. The title of their iconic album, "Let's Talk About Feelings," says it all.
The Lost Generation Festival will be accompanied by a number of attractions that will make the heart beat faster for those who remember the late 1990s and the beginning of the new century.
