New Year’s Eve in Krakow

Four locations and four stages. Artists will perform on each one and treat Krakow’s residents to an intense spectacle of memorable concerts, parties and dances! The City of Krakow and Krakow Festival Office invite everybody, irrespective of age and musical taste, to the New Year’s Eve in Krakow.

Last year, the residents of Krakow greeted the new year partying in front of stages in the Main Square, Podgórze and Nowa Huta. The new formula of New Year’s Eve in Krakow aroused stirred emotions and was very well received by the inhabitants of Małopolska’s capital city. “On the last night of the year, residents will be welcome to join four different events that together comprise the New Year’s Eve in Krakow” – says Jacek Majchrowski, the Mayor of Krakow, and he continues “Thanks to this diversification, everyone will find something that suits their taste and often very near their home. Pet lovers who own cats, dogs and other animals should be delighted by the news that we have given up pyrotechnic shows again. I am sure Krakow’s residents will once more thoroughly enjoy the New Year’s Eve in Krakow.”

Krakow’s residents will for the first time be able to spend the last night of the year together in the TAURON Arena Kraków. Krakow’s renowned rapper Szpaku together with Chory Band will perform first. The acclaimed ensemble Rasmentalism will then enter the stage to play a wide selection of material from its albums. The audience gathered in the TAURON Arena will subsequently listen to the duet of Łona and Webber, who will surely perform their hit “Błąd”, accompanied by The Pimps. Ten Typ Mes will also help the The New Year’s Eve party get into full swing – only the concerts of this Warsaw performer evoke warmer response than his albums, which promises a truly electric atmosphere in the TAURON Arena Kraków!

Women will take over the Main Square on the New Years Eve in Krakow. A stage will appear opposite the Town Hall tower to host performances by Kasia Moś, famous for representing Poland in the final of Eurovision contest or her appearances in the TV show “Twoja twarz brzmi znajomo,” and Bovska, who won the hearts of listeners with her debut “Kaktus” and retained her position as one of the most interesting young generation artists with her second album “Pysk.” The New Year’s Eve concert of the star of the night – Natalia Nykiel, who has already gained thousands of admiring fans, will be one of the two performances of the singer besides her Total Tour 2017 promoting her new album. A truly exceptional event is therefore in prospect! Krakow-based DJ Olivia, well known to the fans of ambitious club music both in Poland and abroad, will play the finale.

The host of the Rynek Podgórski event will be Wojciech Pijanowski, who will not only ensure that we joyfully greet the new year, but also guarantee that fortune smiles on the residents of Małopolska’s capital throughout the whole year 2008. Before the popular presenter announces the greatest hits for the young and old, rapper L.U.C with Krystyna Prońko will demonstrate how music integrates generations. Boba Jazz Band will be there to help them: one of the best Polish bands performing traditional and intensely swinging jazz, which will undoubtedly warm up the audience on that New Year’s Eve night.

There will also be much swinging and dancing in Aleja Róż in Nowa Huta, where Companions will get the party underway. After the concert, Waldemar Domański, director of the Library of Polish Song, and Michał Wasilewski, aka dj Vasil, will be fighting for attention from the audience. They will clash in a “battle of DJ pieces,” presenting dance and party music of different generations.

As always, admission is free to all events during the New Year’s Eve in Krakow. However, free tickets distributed by Evenea.pl are required for the TAURON Arena Kraków. The first batch is already available and the next ones will appear on the website Evenea.pl on 14 and 27 December.

The City of Krakow and Krakow Festival Office, organisers of the New Year’s Eve in Krakow, have prepared surprises for the greeting of the new year. Of course, a mass countdown to midnight is scheduled!
