The Art of Living Well
What do you mean, or how do you build consensus?
Conducting: Agnieszka Baranska and Katarzyna Mroczek
March 5, 2026 (Thursday)
18:00
TAURON Arena Krakow
Between people it can be like in the song Sanah: someone says something, and we don't know what it's about. Hardly, someone says something, and irritation arises in us. The temperature rises, and solutions are far away. Is there any way to make it easier? To avoid hurting ourselves with words? Hear and understand each other better?
Nonviolent Communication, or NVC, is a method created by Marshall Rosenberg, a doctor of psychology and therapist, who noted that the specific language, words and structures we use often create pressure and build unnecessary tension between people. Words don't have to be offensive or loudly shouted at all. Although there is violence in the name of the method, the whole thing applies to the most ordinary, everyday situations.
NVC is seeing people through the lens of needs and is applicable wherever relationships exist. It works well in business, between employee and employer, child and parent, relationship partners, or friends and even enemies! Without changing the meaning of the statement, we formulate it so that all participants in the dialogue can feel more comfortable. Such a conversation is likely to produce tangible results, or at least less nerve racking.
During the meeting, Agnieszka Baranska and Katarzyna Mroczek will present the assumptions of NVC, talk about how to connect feelings with needs, and show the four-step method, which makes it easier to understand what this "someone" is about, and perhaps, above all, what we are about.
Agnieszka Baranska - Music journalist, trainer of empathic communication, mediator in the spirit of Agreement without Violence. Associated with Radio Krakow for 30 years. Author of hundreds of conversations on various topics, primarily related to culture in its broadest sense. She hosts a series of conversations with key figures in the NVC world such as Shona Cameron, Ian Patey and Christlin Rajendram. She has completed the Nonviolent Communication Study, the "Hear Yourself" Mediation Study, based on NVC principles, the Coaching Skills Improvement Course and Empathy-Based Communication.
Katarzyna Mroczek - Certified practitioner of Healing Resonance Therapy, empathic communication coach, enthusiast of Robert Gonzales' Living Compassion and promoter of dialogue across divides. She completed her coaching studies based on Nonviolent Communication at Collegium Civitas and Needs-Based Coaching. She offers one-on-one sessions and workshops on the power of empathy for NGOs, foundations, schools and teams. In her free time, she sticks clay pots and repairs old objects, bringing out their hidden beauty. She graduated in architecture from the Cracow University of Technology.
After the panel, choose your workshop. You will have the opportunity to test the assumptions of NVC in practice, try Traditional Slavic Gymnastics or relax with embroidery.
WORSHOP I: "Give yourself a break - through yourself to you?" Conducting: Agnieszka Baranska and Katarzyna Mroczek
Empathy for self vs. selfishness - what is it really about? During the 90-minute workshop, we will practice different ways of communication and see how our bodies react to them. With lightness and humor, we will go through four steps toward greater clarity and calmness.
WORKSHOP II: "Free yourself from STRESS, relax your BODY, quiet your MIND - the Slavic way to RELAX." Conducting: Sylwia Henslok
Learn 27 holistic exercises of Traditional Slavic Gymnastics. We will strengthen the body, improve posture, activate deep feeling and intuition. This is a practice for every woman - regardless of age or condition. You will look at your body with more respect. You will regain lightness. You will hear yourself and feel your body become a source of power and wisdom.
Sylwia Henslok - for 5 years an instructor of Traditional Slavic Gymnastics from Oksana Pavlovskaya School, PeLoHa masseuse, psycho-colonologist. A graduate of the Academy of Physical Education, she has always been connected with movement: in ballet, modern dance, yoga, skiing, cross-country skiing, cycling, supa, in the mountains and on the water. A happy mother, wife and friend.
WORKSHOP III: "Embroidery therapy - folk bookmarks". Conducting: Anna Maria Zygmunt
During the workshop you will learn basic embroidery stitches and make your own bookmark with a folk design. Embroidery has a meditative and relaxing effect, reduces stress, improves concentration, and is used in art therapy. Join us for an encounter with traditional handicrafts and mindfulness.
Anna Maria Zygmunt - Visual artist, fashion designer. Author of three artistic clothing collections. She has participated in dozens of fashion shows in Poland and abroad. Until 2023, she is a lecturer at the School of Artistic Fashion Design and Creative Director of Cracow Fashion Week. She specializes in haute couture sewing techniques. She works according to the idea of sustainable fashion and no waste.
Co-author of more than a dozen group exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including the exhibition "Siłaczki" at the Museum of Cracow and "External and Internal Space. Images of Lemkivshchyna in Contemporary Art" at the Krosno Land Ethnocenter Gallery.
