It’s Kraków That Creates Metamorphoses feat. Smolik

Transformation, creation, expansion of contexts, giving new meanings – METAMORPHOSES. In music, in images, in emotions, in Krakow – in you.

IT’S KRAKOW CREATES METAMORFOZY feat. SMOLIK – an event that changes the meaning of the word: concert.

IT’S KRAKOW CREATES METAMORFOZY feat. SMOLIK – musical meetings that moved the audience at TAURON Arena Krakow

On November 10, TAURON Arena Krakow became a concert center of Polish music. Artists representing different generations and musical styles met on stage and performed songs in new arrangements prepared especially for this evening by Andrzej Smolik. The concert TO KRAKÓW CREATES METAMORFOZY feat. SMOLIK provided the audience with emotions that will remain in the memory for a long time.

The musical side of this year’s “Metamorphoses” – concert project created by the TAURON Arena Krakow team, was the responsibility of Andrzej Smolik – a producer and composer known for his sensitivity and ability to build unique sounds. Under his artistic direction, a cross-genre and cross-generational show was created – full of surprising combinations, original duets and new interpretations of well-known songs.

The concert was opened by Aleksander Miszalski, president of Krakow, and Malgorzata Marcinska, president of Arena Krakow.

Unique meetings and musical excitement

The audience gathered at TAURON Arena Krakow could see the results of the first musical meeting between Andrzej Smolik and Grzegorz Turnau, who prepared unique interpretations of classic compositions. Grzegorz Turnau in duet with Krzysztof Zalewski performed Really Nothing Happens, and together with Natalia PrzybyszWho. Zalewski also presented Love Love and Zloty pieniądz from the repertoire of Perfect, while Brodka charmed the audience with charismatic performances of Sadza and Varsovie.

A new arrangement of the song Visions was presented by Piotr Rogucki, Miuosh and the musicians of the Atom String Quartet. The quartet also accompanied performances of Natalia Przybysz’s Warm Wind, Kasia Kurzawska’ s Close Your Eyes and Kev Fox’s interpretation of Mind The Bright Lights. Kev Fox also presented an energetic version of London Calling.

A strong representation of the youngest generation was Wiktor Waligóra and Dawid Tyszkowski. Wiktor Waligóra opened the concert with a performance of Maanam ‘s Szary miraży, he also sang Nie stało się nic from the repertoire of Wilki and – in a duet with Krzysztof Zalewski – Elektryczny. Dawid Tyszkowski moved the audience with songs If you know what I want to say (from the repertoire of Katarzyna Nosowska, who could not attend the concert), Push me off and 50,000 881 – the first single by Andrzej Smolik.

Those gathered in the Arena will long remember the Krakow spleen interpreted by Krzysztof Zalewski and Natalia Przybysz, as well as the rock energy of Piotr Rogucki in the classic Misiowie puszyści by the band Siekiera. The finale of the evening was a joint performance of the timeless hit You Can’t Always Get What You Want from the repertoire of The Rolling Stones.

Metamorphoses in image and sound

The concert IT’S KRAKÓW TWORZY METAMORFOZY feat. SMOLIK combined images and music. The visual side was taken care of by Adam Nyk, who created mesmerizing projections that corresponded with the music coming from the stage. Light, screens and animations, combined with music and the energy of the audience, co-created a coherent story about transformation and the power of creative encounter – the title metamorphoses.

New tradition of musical meetings

This year’s “Metamorphoses” is a continuation of the idea that was born in 2024. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of TAURON Arena Krakow, a concert was organized, the name of which referred to a well-known hit by the band Maanam: TO KRAKÓW TWORZY METAMORFOZY. The songs of the Krakow artists sounded then in Miuosh’s arrangements.

This year Andrzej Smolik became the artistic director of the event, preparing an original show combining generations and musical styles. TO KRAKÓW CREATES METAMORFOZY feat. SMOLIK is not only a continuation of the idea of artistic transformation, but also extends it with new sounds and contexts.

Krzysztof Zalewski

Winner of three Fryderyks 2025 – the most important music awards! In September 2024, the artist’s award-winning album “ZGŁOWY” was released, uncompromising and very personal in its message. Singer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter and actor.

In March 2025, the artist played 8 “club” concerts as part of the Z GŁOWY NIE MOŻNA WYJSÆ tour. He released his debut album – a rocking, edgy, raw album – right after winning “Idol” in 2004. He has collaborated with Katarzyna Nosowska and the band Hey, played in Flies and Japoto, performed with Brodka, and even starred in a movie.

The year 2016 saw a new release – the album “Zloto” – Zalewski’s most personal, and at the same time most accessible and hit album. This album opened the way for him to participate in the most interesting projects happening on the Polish music market – such as Męskie Granie. It was for this project that Zalewski wrote the song “Początek,” which reached more than 100 million views in a very fast pace.

Katarzyna Nosowska

Singer, songwriter, writer – a distinct personality and artist with a firmly established position on the Polish scene. She always plays by her own rules: creating music, writing books, creating her presence in social media. Years of success in the band Hey and with solo musical projects have not dampened her appetite for the “new.” She is a woman – a metamorphosis boldly reaching for different creative forms. Her credits include 9 studio albums, 69 singles, 60 music videos, and 3 best-selling books.

Recent years include the uncompromising, powerful, and at times downright brutal album “Basta” (2018), the decidedly more melodic “Degrengolada” (2023), which settles accounts with the modern world, and the emotionally charged collection of songs “Kasia and Blazej” (2024), which is the fruit of a musical friendship with
Blazej Król.

We regret to inform you that for reasons beyond the control of the artist and the organizers, Katarzyna Nosowska will not be able to sing during the concert.

In 2023, Natalia Przybysz recorded the album “There”, which is a story of unique journeys – far away and those into oneself. It is a symbol of the artist’s fascination with travel and the great water, which was born after crossing the Atlantic Ocean.

In 2024, he co-created the first edition of Metamorphoses. At the time, the rapper surprised with an unconventional approach to songs from the repertoire of Kora, Zbigniew Wodecki, Marek Grechuta and Andrzej Zaucha. The concert attracted huge interest from the audience.

Andrew Smolik

– Metamorphosis is a very capacious term, it actually happens all the time and everywhere. We are at the conceptual stage and our “Metamorphoses” will happen in the course of intensive work, with time all the elements will start to come together. For me it is also very important that we are creating an intergenerational event. It will be attended by artists of different ages, who will perform in one show that is united by image and sound. The young will play the songs of the older, and the older will play the songs of the younger, going beyond their comfort zone and at the same time creating a space for change and just metamorphoses,” announces Andrzej Smolik, adding that everything he is working on will be tailor-made for this event, will be unique and will only happen once.

Adam Nyk

Part of the effect is absolutely unknown, for the reason that we rely heavily on improvisation. And in addition to the work involved in analyzing the entire concert, the musical layer, the sound, structure, harmony and rhythm – ultimately at the concert, I will improvise realizing the concert from the visual side. And I will improvise with the many layers of animation that we will prepare. So some part of this effect will be completely unknown. And it will turn out only at this point when it collides with the muse, with what people will do, how they will react. I’m trying to realize, change and transform these images in such a way that the reflection of the audience’s energy will also be there,” visual projects creator Adam Nyk.
